Newsbrief: Final Fantasy XV has delivered the goods for Square Enix, becoming the fastest selling title in the franchise's long history. 

According to a Japanese press release translated by Siliconera, the game has already surpassed 5 million in worldwide shipments and digital sales -- though it's not clear where exactly the split lies. 

Final Fantasy XV  was the first in the series to launch simultaneously around the world when it hit shelves on November 29, and has also set a new record for day-one digital sales in Japan.
