Peter Molyneux's studio 22Cans is making a show of hiring fresh talent and making some staffing changes to "reboot" the company, chief among them being naming recent hire Simon Phillips the new CEO.

Prior to joining 22Cans, Phillips spent several years serving as CEO of mobile game company FairPlay Media. He signed on as executive director of the U.K.-based 22Cans earlier this year, shortly after Molyneux found himself in the hotseat over promises he made about Godus

"Making a truly successful game means finding a great fit of both creativity and business," stated Molyneux in a press release outlining the staff shuffle. "With Simon joining 22Cans as CEO, we now have that fit."

Last month, Godus co-creator Jack Attridge left 22Cans to strike out on his own. Going forward, Molyneux is expected to keep his position as creative director of the company and continue to work on both Godus and the studio's next game, currently known as The Trail
