"If you're a player who is punished for toxicity or intentional feeding or so on, you can't get loot."

League of Legends' quest to encourage its player-base to play nice continues with perhaps the most significant new system -- a loot system that locks out players with negative records.

Riot's lead designer of social systems, Jeffrey Lin today told Polygon that the loot system, which will go live next year, is "a new carrot for playing with friends and for being a positive player in the game."

"We've never done a thing before where negative players don't have access to an entire system," Lin told the site. The new system will reportedly offer premium content for the free-to-play game, such as character skins, for free.

The studio has before withheld rewards from players branded as toxic, but these were special event items given out infrequently -- not an entire reward system.
