As part of its latest semi-annual financial results briefing, Nintendo has revealed the top-selling video games in the U.S., Europe and Japan between January and September of 2012. The series of top 20 charts were sourced with data compiled from research firms MediaCreate, Gfk International and NPD. Each chart highlights releases for each Nintendo console. Madden NFL 13 was the top-selling game in the U.S. during this nine month period, with the Xbox 360 version outselling the PS3 version. This was followed by Borderlands 2, Ubisoft's Just Dance 3 and EA's Mass Effect 3. In comparison, it was soccer that topped the charts in Europe, as FIFA dominated sales. FIFA 13 took both positions one and two, while its predecessor FIFA 12 sat at number third. Nintendo seemingly had more success in Europe than U.S. for this nine month period, with four titles in the top 10 for Nintendo consoles, compared to two in the U.S. Mario Kart 7 was the only Nintendo-developed title to feature in both top 10s. The Japanese charts are an entirely different story, with 15 Wii, DS and 3DS titles in the top 20. Pokemon Black and White 2 were the best-selling games, while New Super Mario Bros 2 was the third best-selling. In comparison, there were eight titles in the top 20 for Nintendo consoles last year, thanks mainly to the increase of 3DS titles year-over-year -- two 3DS games featured in last year's charts, compared to nine this time around. The charts in full, originally found as part of Nintendo's Semi-Annual Financial Results Briefing, can be found below.
