Q Entertainment has launched free-to-play MMORPG Ninety-Nine Nights Online, an online PC title based on the Xbox 360 RPG series Ninety-Nine Nights, in Japan. The game was originally revealed at the start of this year, and a "pre-opening" period has now begun, which is due to run until August 12, 2012. Q Entertainment has not yet revealed when the full game will be released, or what will happen once the pre-opening period is over. UserJoy Technology is the developer behind the project, and has previously worked on Angel Love Online, the first ever PlayStation 3 MMORPG. Ninety-Nine Nights Online is a free-to-play title with an item-based transaction system, which Q Entertainment says combines action and strategy in an online world. Players are able to create a character, and then gather and complete jobs, as well as banding together with friends for team-based and PvP play. The original Ninety-Nine Nights hack and slash RPG was released for Xbox 360 in 2006. Ninety-Nine Nights Online features a graphical style completely different to the main series, substituting the gritty, blood-ridden visuals for a more colorful palette.
