After 275 consecutive weeks of track-based DLC for the Rock Band music game franchise, developer Harmonix will bring the run to an end this April. Aaron Trites, community manager at Harmonix, noted that the studio has released over 4,000 songs for the Rock Band platform over the past 5 years, but said Harmonix has recently been forced to scale down production on the DLC as it transitions to new upcoming titles. April 2 marks the date that the final Rock Band song pack will drop, although Trites noted that this is not Harmonix ruling out more Rock Band DLC in the future -- rather, it simply doesn't have any more planned at this current stage. The company was also keen to stress that the rest of Rock Band's online functionality will still be fully functional, from the Rock Band Network to the Rock Central servers, leaderboards and online music store.
