Shadow of the Colossus riding to the movies once again

Film adaptation of critical darling from Ico creator Ueda is once again under development at Sony as a major film -- the first news on the project since 2009.

Newsbrief: Andres Muschietti, director of horror film Mama, has been tapped to direct an adaptation of Sony's 2005 critical hit Shadow of the Colussus. The script for the movie will be penned by Seth Lochhead, who co-wrote thriller Hanna. No details about the potential release of the film were revealed by The Hollywood Reporter, which reported the story. A film version of the game was first announced in 2009 -- but that adaptation fell apart. This latest adaptation has different talent attached to it. The game won top honors at the 6th annual Game Developers Choice Awards, in 2006.
