Eat Sleep Play co-founder David Jaffe has announced that the company's PS3 revamp of the Twisted Metal series has been pushed back from a planned October 4 release date to some time in 2012. In a post on the PlayStation blog, Jaffe admits that "we’re just not ready yet," and says the additional time will be used for "tuning and polish" on the game. "You only deserve our best and we appreciate your understanding as we take a little more time to guarantee that our best is what we deliver," he continued. After being available as a playable demo at the 2010 and 2011 E3 shows, Twisted Metal will also be shown off at Gamescom and PAX this month, Jaffe said. Jaffe left SCEA to form Eat Sleep Play with partner Scott Campbell in 2007, signing a multi-year development deal with Sony soon after. The studio's last release was 2008's Twisted Metal Head-On: Extra Twisted Edition, a PS2 port of the 2005 PSP title.
