Newsbrief: With the launch of the latest World of Warcraft expansion, Warlords of Draenor, Blizzard had a tough first day due in part to a distributed denial of service attack. Micah Whipple, a World of Warcraft community manager, confirmed on the Battle.net forums that stability in-game "has been less than ideal as we approach our first full day of launch," as a DDoS attack resulted in increased latency. DDoS attacks are becoming a common occurrence in video games. Just recently the long-awaited MMO ArcheAge was DDoSed before it even launched, while Steam, Origin and Battle.net were all hit with attacks earlier this year.
