850K Androids activated daily, 300M total worldwide

Newsbrief: Google said today that more than 850,000 Android devices are activated every single day, representing a year-over-year growth rate of 250 percent. As part of a Google Mobile blog post, the company's SVP of mobile and digital content Andy Rubin also revealed that more than 300 million Android devices have been activated in total worldwide. Rubin also revealed a number of statistics concerning app downloads. More than 450,000 apps are now available via the Android Market, three times as many as the same time last year, and over 1 billion apps are downloaded every month.
