Call of Duty publisher Activision Blizzard has appointed former Fox Sports exec Pete Vlastelica as president and CEO of Major League Gaming (MLG) eSports division.

Activision purchased MLG earlier this year for an reported $46 million and said it would look to turn the brand into "the ESPN of eSports."

Vlastelica will work alongside divison chariman, and former ESPN and NFL Network CEO, Steve Bornstein, along with SVP, Mike Sepso

The new role will see him work to expand and enhance the broadcast, content, and distribution chains of MLG on a global scale.

"I'm joining MLG because of the rare combination of massive digital scale and deep audience engagement around competitive gaming, and because there’s no better category of live streaming video content out there," commented the new CEO.
