Free-to-play MMO publisher Aeria Games has launched an open beta for its own PC gaming digital distribution platform, with a focus on bringing free-to-play titles to core gamers. Aeria Ignite allows developers to distribute their games with Aeria's analytics system and monetization features integrated, and the publisher says that the platform has 200,000 daily active users as of now, thanks to a closed beta period. Users of the platform can utilize a variety of social options as part of their gaming, from instant access to a built-in friends list, to notifications. The platform also offers exclusive content for certain games and promotions. Going forward, the company plans to have every Aeria-published game available to download and play via the platform, alongside titles from other developers. The company plans to make the platform available for tablets and smartphones sometime in the near future, as part of its aggressive push in the mobile gaming space.
