Newsbrief: Last May, retail giant Amazon launched its own virtual currency, for use on the Kindle Fire Amazon Appstore. Today, the company said that Amazon Coins are now available to all Android users, and are no longer exclusive to the Kindle Fire. Android users in the U.S., UK and Germany can now buy Amazon Coins through the Amazon Appstore, and spend the coins on games available through the Amazon store. Titles like Ridiculous Fishing and Angry Birds GO are applicable. Why should developers care? Amazon says that this virtual currency provides "another opportunity to drive traffic, downloads and increased monetization."
