Hello Gamasutra,

My journey to game development begins like most others as a young, inexperienced game addict with all the ideas in the world, but no technical skills or experience to bring those game ideas into reality.

In my late teens and early 20's I started and failed more game orientated projects than I can count, yet for whatever reason I never thought about giving up.

Fast forward a good 15 years to today, I've been fortunate enough to have a number of varying and interesting careers and have picked up some really useful skills along the way that can be applied to hobby game development.

That's not to claim I'm awesome at all of these skills, yet they're enough to get started and makesomething.... frankly at this stage anything will do!

Some include;

  • Start-ups

  • Project Management

  • Python Programming

  • 3D Modeling

  • Music Composition

  • Sales and Marketing

  • Web Development

  • Server Admin

  • Database Admin

  • Advertising

  • and a bunch less exciting business skills

So far my fav Indie game dev project has to be

Currently I'm working on a platformer built with the Blender Game Engine.
The working title is "CuteRobo" I'll worry about a more appropriate marketing title when it gets closer to completion.

Wish me luck, I look forward to seeing what others have in store.
