Newsbrief: Apple has all but confirmed previous rumors that it will unveil its next iPad SKU at an event at San Francisco's Yerba Buena Center for the Arts on March 7. The photo featured in Apple's press invitations sent out Tuesday indicate the show will focus on a new, higher resolution iPad, likely using the same kind of Retina display used in recent iPhone models. The updated tablet is expected to have other features that would benefit games like a faster processor chip and an improved graphics processing unit. Apple announced the iPad 2 around the same time last year, and launched the tablet a week later. As with that iPad 2 event, the company will hold its May 7 presentation across the street from the Game Developers Conference at the Moscone Center. Note: GDC is owned and operated by Gamasutra parent company UBM TechWeb.
