Newsbrief: Apple allowed an iOS developer to take pre-orders on a game destined for the App Store, while also giving the developer full support for its Kickstarter project. Developer Six to Start was given the go-ahead to take pre-orders of Zombies, Run! by Apple, both as part of the Kickstarter and then also after the Kickstarter had finished. The only caveat was that the studio was told it must stop taking orders outside of the App Store once the game was released. A version of the game was released for pre-orders and Kickstarter backers, separate from the paid version, that asked for authorization via a password. Over 3,000 copies of the game were distributed in this way, said the team.
