Opinion: How will Project 2025 impact game developers?
The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
Digital card games on mobile are becoming huge, with Hearthstone leading the pack -- and former Disney man Graham Hopper is back with Days of Discord.
"Before I managed dozens of products at any given time, and the amount of time I could spend on any one game was limited. Here, I’m focused, and the cost of creating games is much lower. You have a chance to be much more innovative, compared to the high-risk, high-budget console games."

He used to run Disney's game biz -- steering it through a tumultuous time in the console market before ultimately exiting the company -- but Graham Hopper is back with a mobile card-game dev called Muti Labs that comprises a number of veterans of the console space.
The company plans to hit the market with Days of Discord, a trading-card game which offers both depth and speedy play, Hopper tells VentureBeat. The game soft-launched in Australia last month.
The card-game space is heating up; VentureBeat pegs its value at $1.2 billion dollars alone. Rage of Bahamut was an early hit, while Blizzard's successful Hearthstone has created a tremendous amount of interest.
