Newsbrief: On Tuesday, major middleware provider Autodesk announced that it is bringing new versions of its Scaleform UI tool to mobile platforms, allowing developers on iOS and Android to create game interfaces based on Adobe Flash. First, Autodesk has prepared a new UI SDK to help developers leverage Scaleform via third party and proprietary game engines. In addition, the company has prepared a brand new standalone mobile development platform that leverages the Scaleform software, and allows developers to use ActionScript 3 and native C++ APIs to create games using 2D vector graphics. Finally, Autodesk has also developed a new plug-in for the Unity game engine so developers can use Scaleform from within that existing development environment. Autodesk plans to officially debut these products later this summer, and more information is available at the company's official website.
