Camouflaj is offering Unity developers a peek behind its curtains this week by making a slice of its République Remastered stealth game available for free download via the Unity Asset Store.

This is intriguing because it's effectively a "behind-the-scenes" feature uniquely tailored to game developers. Last year, Camouflaj founder Ryan Payton penned a postmortem of his Seattle-based studio's efforts to develop the Kickstarted République in Unity 4, now Unity 5 developers can actually muck around with -- and hopefully learn something from -- the remastered results.

Unity has previously highlighted Camouflaj's development efforts on its blog, as Camouflaj was afforded early access to Unity 5 to remaster the mobile versions of République for a PC release.

Thus, République Remastered was one of the first Unity 5 games to see commercial release when it shipped in February, and now it's the first "Unity Tech Demo" to be made available on the Unity 5 Asset Store. You can find more details about the project's development and what assets are available over on the Unity blog.
