Capcom has acquired the rights to popular comic strip character Snoopy, and is set to release a series of social games based on the character's world. The company signed an agreement with Peanuts Worldwide, that will see its social games subsidary Beeline Interactive creating a number of smartphone games centered around Snoopy and his friends. The first release based on the classic comic strip will launch on iPhone and iPad this fall. Prior to that, Beeline will release three social smartphone titles during August and September, called Smurfs' Grabber, Dream Park and Monster Pet Shop. Beeline noted in a statement that it is looking to establish a strong overseas presence on smartphones through the use of the well-known Peanuts characters, and that the upcoming release will lead to "faster growth on a global scale" for the company. Beeline Interactive was established earlier this year as a result of the popularity of Capcom's venture into the smartphone market, with its freemium title Smurfs' Village proving very popular. The company has also seen success with its other smartphone releases, Lil' Pirates and Zombie Cafe.
