Major Chinese game company Shanda has merged two of its mobile studios and its European publishing arm into one entity: Eyedentity Mobile. With a slate of eight new titles, the Chinese company hopes to find success in Western markets.

Eyedentity Mobile brings together Shanda's disparate international studios under one identity: China's Eyedentity, and its Korean and European Actoz Soft branches. Shanda is investing $30 million in a range of eight Asian-developed games which it plans to localize for the Western market.

"We are excited to be an active part in this development and look forward to participating on the great lineup for 2015 and 2016," said Coco Chen, CEO of Eyedentity Mobile, in a statement.

Update: Our original version of this story said that Eyedentity Mobile had plans to develop its own titles after localizing games developed in Asia. This was based on an erroneous report and has been corrected.
