Video game streaming network TwitchTV has revealed that, since launching five months ago, the service's audience has rapidly grown and it is now seeing more than eight million viewers every month. The Justin.tv spinoff service is also seeing over one billion minutes of footage viewed by users each month, revealed the company. Emmett Shear, co-founder of Justin.tv, explained, "From the day we launched the site, I was confident that the gaming community wanted what we were building." "Even so, the level of growth we saw surprised me. Not only did our existing broadcasters expand their audience significantly, we also saw a huge influx of new broadcasters. The community gets larger every week." Justin.tv has also signed an exclusive advertising partnership in the U.S. with technology magazine Future U.S. Last month, TwitchTV unveiled its Partner Program, which provides competitive gameplay streams, an ad network and revenue sharing opportunities to competitive game players.
