Crytek continues Asian expansion with CryEngine 3 licensing deal

Game developer and technology company Crytek on Tuesday announced that it has licensed its CryEngine 3 technology to Chinese developer Giant, furthering the company's growth in Asian markets.

Newsbrief: Game developer and technology company Crytek on Tuesday announced that it has licensed its CryEngine 3 technology to Chinese game company Giant. This new deal is just the latest in a series of moves to bring Crytek's business into Asian territories. The studio has been working to tailor its engine to suit those markets for years, and is currently working on an Asia-focused online shooter dubbed Warface. Giant, which operates online games such as Giant Online, ZT Online, and Elsword, said that Crytek's technology will help the company more easily develop prototypes and ultimately speed up its production cycles.
