The mega-successful Rage of Bahamut developer invested ¥70m in Japanese indie studio Miracle Positive to help improve and expand its sandbox action RPG Airship Q.
Newsbrief: Rage of Bahamut developer Cygames invested 70 million yen (roughly $681k USD or £413k) in Japanese indie studio Miracle Positive earlier this month in an effort to help improve and expand its sandbox action RPG Airship Q. According to a report from Siliconera, Miracle Positive had already raised 1.2 million yen -- more than twice its funding goal -- for development of Airship Q on Makuake, a Japanese crowdfunding site. The influx of cash from Cygames will afford Miracle Positive the opportunity to add new content to the game, including multiplayer systems and mid-bosses. Designed for the PlayStation Vita, Airship Q is a sandbox action RPG in which anthropomorphic cats mine materials, craft equipment and pilot airships in a 2D world akin to that of Terraria or Starbound. The game was also an IGF entrant this year, though it wasn't nominated for an award.
