Film and TV director J.J. Abrams, who is set to director the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII, will keynote the 2013 D.I.C.E. Summit next week alongside Valve co-founder Gabe Newell.

Newsbrief: Film and TV director J.J. Abrams, who is set to director the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII, will keynote the 2013 D.I.C.E. Summit next week alongside Valve co-founder Gabe Newell. The pair will hold a discussion in Las Vegas on February 6 titled "Storytelling Across Platforms: Who Benefits Most, the Audience or the Player?", with the plan to talk about how suspense, action and emotion can be captured in video games. Newell will also give the keynote on February 7, with his talk "A View on Next Steps" looking at where the video game industry is headed, and what Valve plans to do with Steam Big Picture. Gamasutra will be at both keynotes next week, as well as numerous other lectures at the D.I.C.E. Summit, so expect to find coverage here soon.
