Hey Gamasutra readers, EIC Kris Graft here. I just wanted to give you a heads-up: With Game Developers Conference and the Independent Games Festival just weeks away(!) we've started running our annual Road to the IGF series of Q&As with all 30+ competition finalists. So, now we have an official Road to the IGF page, which will be updated with IGF news and new Q&As on a daily basis, all the way up to GDC. Of course, if you're coming to Game Developers Conference 2014 in San Francisco this March, you should check out the games for yourself. IGF finalists games will be playable and their developers available to talk to at the IGF Pavilion on the GDC 2014 show floor (March 19-21) at San Francisco's Moscone Center. (GDC runs from March 17th-21th, with the Independent Games Summit running the first two days.) If you're not coming to GDC, remember that all of the finalists will have an opportunity to have a Steam distribution agreement, so you may eventually check them out there, if they haven't been released already! (And you can buy a number of the games directly from the developers, another good way to support them.) The IGF finalists webpage has additional info on platforms, release status and other info. Gamasutra's initial Road to the IGF Q&As include:

Crypt of the Necrodancer from Brace Yourself Games

"There has been much talk of an 'indie bubble' lately, with people saying that indie games have peaked. I just think that's insane."

Extrasolar from Lazy 8 Games

"Throughout the development of Extrasolar, I was secretly terrified that along the way, someone would say, "This is almost exactly like [X]." But it never happened."

The Yawhg from Damian Sommer and Emily Carroll

"Local co-op games are great, and we need more of them." Follow our Road to the IGF page for many more Q&As from finalists in the coming weeks!
