The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
As announced just moments ago at Horizon, Double Fine will be receiving support from Indie Fund for two new, previously unannounced titles.
Independent game studio Double Fine will be receiving support from Indie Fund and other notable game creators for two previously unannounced titles in development. "I'm really excited and honored to announce on behalf of Indie Fund that... we will be funding an additional two titles from Double Fine," said Indie Fund's Kellee Santiago, who said Indie Fund would be joining several top industry professionals in funding the projects. The announcement was made at Horizon, the E3 counter-conference being presented as a joint effort between Venus Patrol and Los Angeles's Museum of Contemporary Art. Double Fine is the largest studio to receive Indie Fund backing, with 65 employees. Past Indie Fund-backed titles include Pocketwatch Games' Monaco and Alexander Bruce's Antichamber. Double Fine is no stranger to circumventing publisher-based funding -- it raised $3.3 million in a 2012 Kickstarter campaign for the in-progress Double Fine Adventure, and is currently in the middle of another successful Kickstarter campaign for Massive Chalice.
