Global eSports outfit ESL has teamed up with ArenaNet to launch the official Guild Wars 2 Pro League.

The new tournament series will offer pro players the chance to get their hands on a chunk of a $400,000 prize pool, which will be dished out over the course of two seven week seasons.

The first season of the Pro League, which will replace the Guild Wars 2 World Tournament Series, kicks off in November with a round of open qualifiers. The competition will come to a head at a LAN event held at hosted at the ESL studios.

“We’re seeing massive growth in players joining Guild Wars 2 and competitive play is the fastest growing segment in the game," said ArenaNet game director Colin Johanson.

"Guild Wars 2 Pro League is the result of our vision to create a tournament system where the majority of our player community can participate and are given a clear path to improve their skills, form teams and qualify."
