Game industry veteran Craig Scott recently left his position as design director at CCP to join German browser game maker Bigpoint, where he will be serving as lead designer on an unnamed new game. Scott reportedly worked his way up the Eve Online design team during his time at CCP, eventually moving on to work on the studio's massively multiplayer sci-fi shooter Dust 514 before departing to work at Bigpoint on what the company is calling a "new breed" of MMO game. "Bigpoint has major experience in the future sector of free-to-play, online games," stated Scott in a press release issued by Bigpoint confirming his hire. "Furthermore, I expect to have much space for trying new things, which is a premise for making really innovative games and which, of course, means a lot of fun for both the teams and the users." Bigpoint has a long track record of developing browser-based massively multiplayer games like Drakensang Online and Battlestar Galactica Online. Gamasutra has reached out to Bigpoint for more details on Craig Scott's new role at the company.
