Former LucasArts and EA veterans have founded the Bay Area-based November Software, which aims to bring streaming 3D content to web and mobile-based social games. The four studio founders previously worked on art and technology for big-budget titles including Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 1 and 2, and now hope to bring elements from major console titles into the social and mobile space. "We want to take what we know and love about next-gen games: the deep immersion, high-fidelity atmosphere, multi-layered skill based mechanics, and bring them into the casual social gaming world,” said co-founder Szymon Swistun. The studio also announced its first social game project, Inemeri: A Familiar World, an online social game coming to the web as well as iOS devices. "Additionally, we are building a heavy 'streaming' centric engine and are targeting to stay under five megs to get anywhere in the world at any time. This will allow players to jump into the game anywhere in seconds without downloading large files," Swistun told Gamasutra. "We felt doing all of this to get a high-end but casual user experience would be easier with our own tech than heavily modifying other engines," he added. While details about Inemeri: A Familiar World are not yet available, November Software noted a closed beta for the title should launch this summer.
