Today, Thalmic Labs, creators of the Myo motion-control armband, have announced that Simon Jeffrey, former president of LucasArts and Sega of America, has joined the company as chief gaming evangelist. Jeffrey also previously served as chief publishing officer of Ngmoco prior to its acquisition by DeNA. "The company already has a robust list of game developers using the Myo armband to completely revolutionize the gaming experience. I am excited by this opportunity to help Thalmic Labs reach its fullest potential in gaming applications," Jeffrey said in a statement. The Myo armband aims to bring easy gesture control to a variety of applications, including games. It has obvious applications for games, including virtual reality games on Oculus Rift. Myo is also compatible with Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android. Thalmic Labs is currently taking developer applications on its website, and also offering up open pre-orders for the $149 device, which should ship soon.
