Last year a group of ex-Ubisoft devs quietly formed a new Parisian indie studio, Sloclap, and now they've signed a deal with Devolver Digital to publish their inaugural game Absolver (pictured.)

Paris has gained a bit of prominence in the game industry recently; last year Sony refocused its traditional Gamescom public outreach efforts on Paris Games Week, and this month the long-running IndieCade festival announced it would debut its new European expansion, IndieCade Europe, in Paris later this year.

While the lion's share of Sloclap's founders formerly worked at Ubisoft Paris on games like Watch Dogs and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands, the studio has expanded since its founding as it works on its "online combat RPG" Absolver ahead of its slated 2017 launch.
