Fastest-growing Facebook games: From Avengers to King.com's Sagas

Gamasutra's bi-weekly look at the fastest-growing Facebook titles examines recently popular games like King.com's Saga games and Playdom's Marvel: Avengers Alliiance.

[Every other week, Gamasutra examines the fastest-growing Facebook games according to monthly active users, looking at which titles and developers are having the most success attracting new players on the social network.] Two of the fastest growing Facebook games tonight are from King.com, the second biggest game developer on the social network after Zynga, and neither of those titles are the company's big hit Bubble Witch Saga. Instead, we have Candy Crush Saga, which gained 1.2 million users in the last week and now has 7 million total, and Pyramid Solitaire Saga with 830,000 new players and 1.5 million total. King.com is doing pretty well with the Saga series, which also includes Bubble Saga, Hoop De Loop Saga, Mahjong Saga, and Puzzle Saga. Disney and Playdom's Marvel: Avengers Alliance also continued to enjoy audience growth thanks to the recent release of the blockbuster Avengers film. The social game now has 900,000 new users and 81. million total. Cookapps' Buggle is the fourth fastest growing game this week (700,000 new users; 2 million total), followed by Peak Games' Lost Bubble (570,000 new users; 650,000 total), and the Zynga portal (500,000 new users; 3.6 million total). After that there's GameHouse's Mystic Ice Blast (400,000 new users; 1.2 million total) at #7, then Playdom's Armies of Magic (330,000 new users; 1.2 million total) and Disney Animal Kingdom (300,000 new users; 2.1 million total). RedSpell's Astro Garden (2.1 million total) and GameDuell's Bubble Speed (2.2 million total) are tied at #10 after both gained 200,000 new players each.
