Newsbrief: Casual games startup Seriously announced this week that it has wrapped up a recent round of funding after raising a total of $2.65 million from both extant investors Upfront Ventures and Sunstone Capital as well as new backer Daher Capital. Seriously was founded by Rovio and Remedy expats last November with $2.35 million in seed money, bringing the company's total funds raised to roughly $5 million. In addition, the studio announced that it has hired former Rocketpack artist Petri Rasanen, as well as bringing on Rovio exec Philip Hickey to help manage its marketing and communications efforts. Seriously maintains offices in both Helsinki and Los Angeles, and plans to launch its first "casual plus" game for mobile devices later this summer.
