Newsbrief: Traplight Games, a Finnish mobile studio founded back in 2010, has received $500,000 in a round of investor funding to build its own IP. The team, made up of 12 staffers with backgrounds at Sega, Warner, Disney and Lucasarts, originally began as a collaboration studio working with teams like Redlynx, Ubisoft and Supercell. Now the studio is looking to build its own IP, and has been granted half a million dollars as it puts together What on Earth!, a physics-based mobile game in which all the levels and events are generated by its players. As part of the announcement, Traplight says that Nikolaj Nyholm, currently on the advisory board at Minecraft studio Mojang, has also joined Traplight's board of directors.
