Newsbrief: L.A. and Shanghai-based mobile developer-publisher, Firefly Games, has raised $10 million to bolster the development of titles based on Hollywood IPs.

Speaking to VentureBeat, Firefly founder Michael Zhang said the cash will be used to "diversify and leverage our current strengths into Hollywood IP, VR, and eSports."

Firefly netted $8 million last February to bridge the gap between the East and the West by implenting "proven Western event systems" into its Asian-market ports.

The latest investment values the company, which is less than two years old, at around $100 million.
