Newsbrief: A team of former mobile game industry veterans has banded together to build free-to-play "modern mobile games" in Helsinki, Finland. Helsinki GameWorks is made up of former Rovio, Remedy, Digital Chocolate and Guerrilla Games staffers, including CEO Kalle Kaivola, who was previously Rovio SVP of product and publishing. The team of 11 plans to build "mid-core" mobile games, with the first as-of-yet unannounced title focused around physics-based play. The studio is also working on a number of co-development projects.
