Funcom hopes to save The Secret World with new game director

Following a disappointing launch, Funcom's MMO The Secret World has a new game director, Joel Bylos, who will look to expand and enhance the original release through post-launch content.

Following a disappointing launch, Funcom's MMO The Secret World has a new game director, Joel Bylos, who will look to expand and enhance the original release through post-launch content. The long-awaited game only saw 200,000 purchases in the two months after launch, forcing Funcom to lay off employees and shift its business away from large games, focusing in the future on smaller games. Bylos was previously lead content designer on The Secret World, as well as lead designer on content for Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures. He will work alongside the MMO's creative director Ragnar Tornquist in a bid to pull in more users.
