We at Gamasutra have spent a lot of time analyzing the reaction to the Nintendo Switch. We’ve polled analysts, developers, even Twitter, for insight on how Nintendo’s mobile/console hybrid will perform when it lands early next year. And now that the dust has settled a little, we wanted to take a moment and ask ourselves—what do WE think about the Nintendo Switch?

We decided to take the conversation over to our new Twitch channel, so that we could respond to reader questions and go over the announcement trailer live with our audience. Along the way, developer and frequent Gamasutra blogger Lars Doucet dropped by to share his thoughts as a game designer about the potential of the Nintendo Switch.

It was a great conversation, in part because, as editor-in-chief Kris Graft pointed out the stream, Nintendo’s consoles come with a kind of energy that inspires people to think about what kind of unique games they can play on the console.
