Location: Santa Monica, CA The Narrative Designer will work under the direction of the Game Director and Writer, and is responsible for conveying their vision for the game's narrative elements to the player. This will involve creating tools and systems, and implementing the narrative in close collaboration with designers working on environments, missions and characters. The role is not a purely conceptual or on-paper one. The ideal candidate is a hands-on implementer and builder of systems as well as an accomplished communicator. Responsibilities:
Design and implement narrative and dialog systems, taking direction from the Game Director and Writer.
Work closely with Design Director and Level Design team to define requirements and champion the narrative needs of the project.
Participate constructively in production and design meetings and discussions.
Interpret, respect and support the creative direction of the Game Director and Writer.
Collaborate effectively with other disciplines (such as sound and cinematics) to achieve desired outcomes.
Assemble and edit prototype story components such as storyboards and animatics.
