Harmonix Co-Founder Egozy to Speak at Vanderbilt University

Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, has announced that Harmonix Music Systems co-founder and chief technical officer Eran Egozy will speak on November 17th in the university's Student Life Center. In his discussion, Egozy will address creativity in the games industry, and will speak about the business side of video games and the cultural influence of interactive music experiences. Harmonix, creator of the Guitar Hero franchise, now develops the Rock Band series of music simulation games. Egozy's speech is part of Vanderbilt's Curb Creative Leadership Series. "We are honored to have Eran as our 2009 Curb Creative Leadership speaker," said Curb Center associate director Steven J. Tepper. "The series is intended to bring to Vanderbilt entrepreneurs and cultural leaders, like Eran, whose work and vision have transformed the way we experience art and media." Following Egozy's speech, Vanderbilt will host a Rock Band charity competition to benefit the W.O. Smith Nashville Community Music School, which gives music lessons to children from low-income families. Egozy's speech, set to begin at 4:30 PM on November 17th, is free and open to the public. Entry to the Rock Band competition is $5.
