With the rise in number of online games, kids nowadays are more geared towards playing and interacting online rather than play physical games. This may hinder the healthy lifestyle that health buffs preach.

Though health games give health awareness to kids and parents alike, there's no substitute in engaging to physical exercises.  Kids should be motivated to do physical sports such as basketball or baseball in order to stimulate physical strength and muscle development.  I have played some of these games and they are really informational.  One can prepare a meal and see the calorie value of the ingredients.  Another game teaches kids to group food according to food groups.

These games may nuture the mind and help in developing intellectual skills but nothing beats a kid playing a physical game while in sports apparel and exercise shorts. Kid should be nurtured and be encouraged to play like a kid - get dirty in spandex shorts and express oneself through physical sports.
