The head of the International Game Developers Association, Gordon Bellamy, has resigned after serving as executive director there for two years, and will take on a position at Tencent. IGDA is a non-profit meant to serve the interests of its game industry members. The organization aims to connect developers with their peers and advocate issues affecting the community. Bellamy worked toward those goals as executive director, helping expand the group's game development scholarship program. During his tenure, IGDA saw a considerable increase in membership and chapters, along with new programs. Prior to becoming executive director, he served as IGDA's board chair and on its board of directors. Though he's stepping down from his position to work at online game publisher Tencent as its new business development director, Bellamy is also rejoining IGDA's board. Zee Gee Games CEO and recently elected IGDA chair Dustin Clingman will serve as the interim executive director until the organization finds a suitable replacement.
