Crowdfunding website Kickstarter, which has facilitated the launch of a number of independent games, will be opening itself up to Canadian creators in the coming weeks.
Newsbrief: Kickstarter, the popular crowdfunding website which facilitated the funding of projects including Obsidian's Project Eternity and two games from Double Fine, will be expanding to Canada-based projects sometime within the next few months ("later this summer," in Northern Hemisphere terms). Project creators can head over to the announcement subsite to join Kickstarter's mailing list for updates and to let the company know which category of project they're looking to launch. And yes, "Games" is included on the category shortlist.
