Social games company King.com has acquired Stockholm-based developer Fabrication Games, as part of its push into the smartphone game space. The London, UK-based King.com began expanding its casual games roots last year with the opening of new offices in the U.S. and Romania, the latter of which houses the company's mobile games operations. According to TechCrunch, it has now furthered its push into mobile games with the acquisition of Fabrication Games for an undisclosed sum. Fabrication has released a number of successful mobile games for iOS and Android devices in the past, including Sprinkle and Ioncraft Racing. TechCrunch also suggests that King.com is considering an initial public offering sometime next year on the NASDAQ, depending on how the market fares for the company.
