Epic today updated its Unreal Developer's Kit with a hefty number of new features, including support for iOS 6 and various iOS devices. The November 2012 UDK release for the Unreal Engine 3 focuses mainly on Apple's mobile platform, introducing support for iPhone 5, the fourth-generation iPad and the iPad mini. The update also brings the Unreal Landscape terrain editor up to speed on mobile devices, including the Unreal Engine's mobile material system, while lots of extra mobile features have been added, such as a new mobile shader analyzer. Elsewhere, the November release brings a new UDK project tool that aids developers in starting a game's development from scratch, while a new setup wizard helps to get a Perforce server up and running. On top of the main release, Epic has also released a new art perspective tool called Carapace -- a standalone program, described by Epic Games senior environment artist Warren Marshall "as a simple program that lets you place vanishing points around an image placeholder to flesh out the shell of your drawing." The November release can be downloaded from the official UDK website, where the full release notes can also be found.
