In a new article over on Re/code, Riot Games' lead designer of social systems, Jeffrey Lin, details the work the company has been doing to combat toxicity in the League of Legends community.

It's a fascinating read that details the work the company has been doing to reform its player-base's behavior. Lin discussed that work with Gamasutra in March; an automated "player reform" system went into testing in May and is now fully operational.

Using player reports and machine-learning, the system chastises players who break the social norms of the League of Legends community -- as decided by the players at large.
