Epic Games' annual student game development competition, Make Something Unreal Live, today announced the shortlist of projects that will go on to the next stage of the contest.
Newsbrief: Epic Games' annual student game development competition, Make Something Unreal Live, today announced the shortlist of projects that will go on to the next stage of the contest. Twelve student teams were chosen for the pitch documents they submitted, based on the 'Mendelian Inheritance: genetics and genomics' theme, with a panel of judges including Stephen Gaffney, the CEO of Fireteam, picking the winners. These teams will now go on to create demos for their games using Unreal Engine 3, and eventually an overall winner will be picked to receive a commercial Unreal Engine 4 licence. Past Make Something Unreal success stories have included Killing Floor and Red Orchestra studio Tripwire, and Alexander Bruce's Antichamber.
