The Marmalade cross-platform SDK today staked its claim as a leading business in the world of mobile game porting, as it launched a new technology which it says entirely replaces the need to port your iOS games to Android. The company describes Marmalade Juice as an "iOS on Android SDK" since the technology allows developers to recompile Objective-C and native OS APIs directly within the Marmalade SDK. Recompiled apps can then be deployed straight for Android, as well as other Marmalade-supported platforms including BlackBerry, Mac, and selected Smart TVs. Marmalade Juice also allows for optimization to be made within the original codebase, and for source-level debugging within the Marmalade simulator. By utilizing Marmalade Juice, the company claims that developers will be able to port their games from iOS to Android and other device rapidly, leaving out the sometimes painful act of code-porting. More information can be found on the official Marmalade website.
