Newsbrief: Less than a year after his formal departure from BioWare, Casey Hudson has signed on to serve as creative director of Microsoft Studios.

Hudson is notable because in his roughly 15 years at BioWare he oversaw development of all three Mass Effect games, and was involved in production of the fourth before leaving the studio last August.

Now he moves from BioWare's hometown of Edmonton to Redmond, Washington in order to guide Microsoft Studios' development of games and HoloLens experiences.

He'll be reporting to Kudo Tsunoda, the chief HoloLens evangelist who was bumped up to oversee a number of Xbox game studios earlier this year.
